  • Depending on field size, each division could take up to 90 minutes to complete. Awards are given out after each division is complete.

Scoring

Desktop Scoring – Use only at the scoring table, to either verify the live scoring is correct or enter in the scores for all 9 shots.

Mobile Scoring – Use if you have iPad/phones at each skill station for live scoring.

The weather policy for the Drive, Chip and Putt is as follows:

As a reminder, Drive, Chip & Putt will only take 15-20 minutes for a competitor to move through all three stations. We will do awards as soon as the division is done.

  • In the event of rain, we WILL continue to play.
  • We will only stop if there is lightning within a 5 mile radius. In the event we get lightning, we will move all the players into a safe location to wait out the storm. Once the lightning has cleared, we will continue to play. We will wait out the storm until we either run out of daylight or the course becomes unplayable due to water.

Golf course becomes unplayable or we run out of daylight and need to cancel the event: in the event that we cease play and cannot finish, the event we will attempt to reschedule as soon as possible.

  1. Any division that has been completed and the awards have been handed out will remain finished and those divisions will NOT return for the rain reschedule.
  2. Any division that has NOT completely finished WILL return for the reschedule.
  • If we have one or more players within an age division, for example, Boys 12-13, who have not completed all nine golf shots, ALL boys 12-13 will need to return for the reschedule date or re-register for a different local qualifier.
  • Even if a player has completed each station and turned in their card, they will still need to return to compete on the rescheduled date.
  • All competitors within an age division need to compete under the same circumstances, meaning we cannot have a player in the Boys 12-13 compete on Saturday, and be playing against a Boy 12-13 on the reschedule date where the hole location and competition may be different.

Should a player advance through Local qualifying, the Sub-Regional and Regional qualifying sites will be pre-determined based upon the Local qualifying site. Once a Local Qualifying site has been chosen, we cannot change any player from one Sub-Regional or Regional to another site.

Drive, Chip & Putt is a free event that is open to boys and girls ages 7-15. Juniors are separated into four age divisions for both boys and girls: 7-9 years old, 10-11 years old, 12-13 years old, & 14-15 years old. Participants advance through local, sub-regional, and regional qualifiers to make it to the National Finals at Augusta National Golf Club on the Sunday before the Masters.

At each qualifying level, participants hit three shots at each station, Drive, Chip & Putt, for a total of nine shots. Each shot receives a point value. There are prizes for the top three in each Skill and for the top three Overall participants. The contestant with the highest number of accumulated points will be declared the Overall Champion in their age division. The top two Overall participants in each age & gender division from each Local qualifier will advance to the Sub-Regional qualifier.

The Sub-Regional has the same format as the Local qualifier, however, only the top two Overall participants in each age & gender division will advance to the Regional Qualifier (16 participants). At the Regional qualifier, scores from the Sub-Regional will not be taken into account.

The Regional qualifier has the same format as the previous two qualifiers, however, only the Overall Champion in each age & gender division will advance to the National Finals at Augusta National Golf Club (8 participants).
