PGA WORKS Golf Management University Scholarship Program application will be available again in December 2024. PGA of America will award fifteen $8,000 scholarships for the 2025-2026 academic year. For more information and to apply click here.

Applicants to the PGA WORKS Golf Management University Scholarship Program must be:

• High school seniors or graduates or current postsecondary undergraduates. An intentional focus is placed on engaging a diverse demographic of participants, but all are welcome to apply.
• Plan to enroll in fulltime undergraduate study at one of the 17 accredited PGA Golf Management Universities pursuing a PGA Golf Management degree for the entire 2025-2026 academic year, with the intent to pursue PGA of America Membership

Eligible individuals exclude persons or family members of the PGA of America National Board, staff, or scholarship selection committee.

The PGA WORKS Fellowship is one of the flagship programs of PGA REACH. The PGA WORKS Fellowship aspires to be the most valuable entry-level employment opportunity for individuals from diverse backgrounds to garner experience in all facets of the golf industry.

The PGA WORKS Fellowship provides the opportunity for a one-year, paid immersion in the Michigan PGA Foundation operations. This entry-level employment experience offers a taste of what a career in the golf industry can provide.

The PGA WORKS Fellowship is a program that offers access to individuals from diverse backgrounds—whether by gender, age, race or color, national origin or ancestry, sexual orientation, disability, religion or Veteran status—into the golf industry to gain experience in all facets of the golf industry. Currently, there are fellows in nineteen PGA Sections.

Michigan PGA WORKS Fellow

Our current PGA WORKS Fellow is Hayley Guilinger from Thomson, Illinois. She is a graduate of Carl Sandburg College, Culver-Stockton College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sport Management, and Western Illinois University with a Master’s Degree in Sport Management.

Social Worker Ignites College Dreams Through Golf

The Midnight Golf Program is dedicated to equipping determined young adults through life skills training, proactive coaching, long-term mentoring and the discipline of golf in order to succeed in college, in their careers and beyond. The program was founded in 2001 by Reneé Fluker, a social worker and single mother who noticed the impact golf had on her son’s life—a student golfer who encouraged her to find a way to provide other young people with the opportunity to experience the game he loved and the doors he believed it had opened for him.

From its humble beginnings with 17 students meeting at Franklin-Wright Settlements—a small community center in Detroit, to learning golf skills to today with 250 students—the program is a phenomenal success. It has expanded to a 30-week curriculum that has helped hundreds of Detroit’s at-risk high school students enter college and various professional careers. Today, twice weekly, two groups of 125 students meet from 5:30-8:30 p.m. for life lessons, golf lessons and a sit-down dinner.

The Michigan PGA supports Midnight Golf Program financially each year, in addition to our professionals giving golf lessons at each session.
