Orlando, Florida – Congratulations to the team from The Wyndgate with professional Don Devantier and his amateur partners Derek Gaskins, Billy Hall and Dave Havens on winning the 2025 Michigan PGA Evermore Resort Pro Am presented by Anderson Ord!
They closed out the event with a round of 131 (-13 under par ) in this two net best ball format on the Cypress Course and good for a 3 shot victory.
The event was sold out this year with 30 teams as we returned to the newly remodeled Evermore Resort, formally Grand Cypress Resort. This event was here in 2018 and 2019 before moving to Trump Doral in Miami the last 5 years. The Dart Company out of Mason, MI purchased Evermore Resort and it underwent a massive 3-year renovation in excess of a billion dollars to create this new resort complex that includes homes and four bedroom flats that the teams stayed in around the 8 acre crystal clear lagoon and 20 acre beach complex.
The event kicked off Friday night with the opening party in the Boathouse reception room overlooking the lagoon and our sponsor Anderson Ord was there to hand out the tee gifts for all the players. Jim Dougherty, the National Sales Manager with Anderson Ord and Mike Hodgins ,COO were both onsite Friday and Saturday to hand out the gifts and spend some time with all the participants. Mike and Jim are both from Michigan.
The Pro Am consisted of three rounds with all the teams playing both the Cypress and Links courses. The field was broken up into two flights based on their course rotation. The low two teams each day per course win daily prize money as well as the team that wins the Overall Championship and top two teams in each flight.
This is the first victory in this event for Don Devantier and his team, they finished at an incredible -42 under par for the event.
Finishing in second Overall and winning their flight was the team of professional Ryan Lenahan from the Kendall Academy at Miles and his amateur partners Scott Czekaj, Ron Young and Nick Rizzo.
Joe Kiss, professional from V’s Bogeys & Stogies and his amateur partners from Heritage Glen GC, Mike Vandemaele, Tim Cavanaugh and Rick Depauw took home top honors in their flight finishing at -36 under for the event.
