Ann Arbor, MI – “ It was just one of those days where everything was going in for us “ Tim Pearce, Assistant PGA Professional at Birmingham Country Club said after their round as Tim and his amateur partners Brett Hudson, Alex Chapman and Michael Coriasso shot a -16 under par round of 128 in this scratch 2 best ball of 4 format, good enough for a one shot victory.
The Michigan PGA Section wrapped up its full field events for 2020 with the Ace Indoor Golf Fall Pro Scratch on Monday at Travis Pointe Country Club. 26 teams competed in what turned out to be a beautiful fall day. The golf course was in really good shape with smooth greens that gave way to some low scores.
The team from Birmingham Country Club got off to a hot start going -8 under par on their first eight holes. They kept it going in what proved to be a great team effort and a lot of made putts to finish at 128.
This was good enough for a one shot victory over the team of PGA Professional Brian Cairns from the Fox Hills Learning Center and his amateur partners James Piot, Eric Spencer and Ian Smith.
This was the second year in a row that Tim Pearce and Brett Hudson have won this event as they won last year at Plum Hollow Country Club with PGA Professional Don Devantier and Tommy Lucko.
We would like to thank our sponsor of the event this year – Ace Indoor Golf. Joe Neumeyer and Jordan Young were onsite to talk with the players and show them all the exciting things happening with Ace Indoor Golf and the world of golf simulators.
We would also like to thank our host site Travis Pointe Country Club. All of their staff from the golf course maintenance, golf professionals and golf shop staff to the food and beverage dept did a great job putting on this event.
