Miami, Florida – The Michigan PGA Trump Doral Pro Am presented by Anderson Ord finished up on Monday with beautiful sunny skies and warm temps as you would expect in South Florida. The beautiful weather, great course and golfing conditions gave way to some low scores as the team from Oak Pointe Country Club with professional Kyle Dobbs and his amateurs Robert Kennedy, Jay Johnston and David Paskievitch captured the Overall Championship by finishing at -28 under for the three rounds and a three shot victory !

35 teams consisting of one Michigan PGA Professional and three amateurs participated this year in our fourth year in a row at Trump National Doral Resort.  The resort continuers to provide an excellent venue for this Pro Am with exceptional golf and accommodations and a long history of hosting Professional events on the famed Blue Monster Course.

The event kicked off Friday night with the opening party and our sponsor Anderson Ord handing out the tee gifts for all the players. Jim Dougherty, the National Sales Manager with Anderson Ord was onsite Friday and Saturday to hand out the gifts spend some time with all the participants.

The Pro Am consisted of three rounds with all the teams playing the Golden Palm, Red Tiger and Blue Monster Courses at the resort. The field was broken up into two flights based on their course rotation. The low two teams each day per course win daily prize money as well as the team that wins the Overall Championship and top three teams in each flight.

After Round 1 it was the team of professional Tom Harding from Carls Golfland and his amateur partners from The Wyndgate that had the low round of the day on the Blue Monster with a -8 under 136 total.

In the other flight we had two teams tied at the top with rounds of -11 under on the Red Tiger Course in the 1 gross and 1 nest best ball format. The teams of professionals Dan Lock from the Dan Lock Golf Academy as well as Bryan Fegert from Battle Creek Country Club held this spot that included a Hole in One from Dan !

In  Round 2 on the Red Tiger Course the team with professional Kosta Ramirez from the Kosta Ramirez Golf Academy and his amateur partners  had the low round of the event with a -16 under par 128, jumping them into the lead in their flight.

The team of professional Ray Davis and his amateur partners from Spring Lake Country Club took home the low round 2 honors on the Golden Palm with a -6 under par round of 136.

It was in round 3 that the champs made their move as they shot the low round of the day with a -12 under par round of 130 to give this team from Oak Pointe their first Overall victory in this event finishing at -128 under par, 402 total. They will be receiving trophies as well as $500 per player.

They finished three shots ahead of Kosta Ramirez and his amateurs Ron Hornbaker, Kyle Yohe and Tony Jacobson as they will take home top honors in their flight, picking up $400 per player.

In the other flight it is the team from Battle Creek Country Club with professional Bryan Fegert and his amateur partners Gary Peterson , Steve Peterson and Thien Dang that finished first with a three day total of -20 under ,410 and $400 per player as well.
