The Michigan PGA is proud to announce that Stephanie Jennings, PGA, is the first female officer elected to the Michigan PGA Board of Directors!
Jennings will serve as the Section’s Secretary and is currently the Head Women’s Golf Coach at Eastern Michigan University. In her spare time, she works with a good friend and assists a PGA Junior League team out of Bay Pointe Golf Club in West Bloomfield, MI.
We caught up with Stephanie and asked her, “As the first female officer, what influence do you feel you may have on other females to run for the Board of Directors going forward?
Jennings replied, “I am friends with a few of the female members in our Section. However, my goal is to build rapport with more of our female members and associates and to encourage them to get involved in some capacity. Whether it’s volunteering at an event, serving on a committee, or running for a Board position, I feel that you receive a more complete experience with your Section when you give a little of your time.”
“I feel that my diverse background and work experience brings a different perspective to our Board. From working for a national women’s golf association to building and executing player development programs for three public facilities, I’ve been fortunate to gain very valuable experience that I feel will aid in the decision-making process with my fellow Board members.”
