Congratulations to Scott Hebert from Traverse City Golf & Country Club on winning the Michigan Senior PGA Championship presented by Golf Channel & PXG title on Tuesday at Hidden River Golf & Casting Club. Scott fired a 68 in round 1 and held a slim one-shot advantage. It was on the back nine on Tuesday that Scott separated himself from the field with birdies in #10, #11,#12 and an eagle on #17 to shoot 31 on the back and finish at -8 under for the tournament. This is Scott’s second Michigan PGA Senior PGA title. Finishing in second place at -4 under was Josh Fryer from Franklin Hills Country Club.

As a part of this event players were also trying to qualify for one of the seven spots to advance to the 2026 Senior PGA Professional National Championship on October 22-25 at Superstition Mountain in Phoenix, Arizona

Joining Scott and Josh and advancing are Jeff Roth from BOYNE Golf Academy, Chad Kurmel from Michigan State University Golf, Gary Lewandowski from Tullymore Golf Club, Lee Houtteman from Leland Country Club, George Bowman from Oakhurst Golf & Country Club and Scott Brotebeck from Walnut Creek Country Club. Scott secured the last spot with a birdie on the 5th playoff hole.

We would also like to congratulate Jack Seltzer, PGA Life Member from Linden on winning the 70 and over Super Senior Division. Jack finished at +7 for the event and 2 shots ahead of PGA Life Member John Traub.
