It was a beautiful 36-hole event today for the 2020 National Car Rental Michigan PGA Section Assistants Championship at Battle Creek Country Club in Battle Creek, MI. We had 42 PGA assistants tee yesterday to compete for the 3 spots to play in the 44th National Car Rental Assistant PGA Professional Championship that will be held at the PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie, Florida. It will take place on November 12-174, 2020.
Leading the morning round with (-4) 68 was Josh Proben, Mat Little, and Travis Dodson. All of them were heading into the afternoon round with high hopes. Josh Proben from Western Golf & Country Club put up back to back 68’s, (-8) 136 to clench the 2020 NCR Michigan PGA Section Assistants Championship.
Mat Little from GolfTEC – Lakeside shot a (-1) 71 for round two landing him in second place with a morning round of (-4) 68 for a total of (-5) 139. Travis Dodson from Meadowbrook Country Club secured the third qualifying spot with a (-4) 68 in the morning and a (E) 72 to end the day. All top three players will be advancing to the 44th National Car Rental Assistant PGA Professional Championship to represent the Michigan Section.
