Frankenmuth, MI – This past Monday concluded the Midwest Golf & Turf Pro Am at The Fortress in Frankenmuth. There was a great turnout, with 50 teams competing in this best ball format with teams eligible for both the gross and net divisions.

The Net Best Ball winners for this year’s event was Chad Kurmel, professional from the Spartan Golf Academy and his daughter Abbey Kurmel. Chad and Abbey shot an impressive -11 under 61 net to take home the trophy. The winning team for the Gross Best Ball format was Ben Cook, professional from Yankee Springs Golf Course and his amateur partner Matt Ostby. These two  shot an outstanding -11 under 61 gross for the round. Cook is definitely a player to watch, as this is his second Michigan PGA win in two weeks.

This event was a huge success with great weather, course conditions, and competition. We would like to thank all our participants for competing in this year’s Midwest Golf & Turf Pro Am.  Also, we would like to thank our host professional Kyle Martin as well as his staff at The Fortress. The course was in great shape and the day was executed perfectly. The greens were running extremely pure and the players appreciated that immensely. Finally, we would like to thank our sponsors for this year’s event, Midwest Golf & Turf. They not only helped contribute to the purse, but they also had a team playing in the event. Their dedication and support makes this event, and several others possible.
